Terms of Service

Bill Splitter lets you scan a receipt, split it among people, and see who owes what. We are not a payment processor and we do not move money or settle debts between users — the app only calculates the split.

Item names, prices, and totals are extracted automatically and can be wrong, especially on damaged, handwritten, or low-quality receipts. You’re responsible for checking extracted amounts before relying on them to split a real bill.

Free accounts are limited to 1 active bill, 5 bills total, and 5 receipt scans a week. The Group plan (€4.99/month) removes or raises these limits and renews automatically each billing period until canceled. You can cancel anytime from the billing portal; canceling stops future renewals but doesn’t refund the current period.

If you’re an EU consumer, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal on the subscription. By subscribing, you agree that access to the paid features begins immediately, and you accordingly waive that withdrawal right once you’ve used the service under the subscription.

You keep ownership of the receipts and bill data you upload. You’re responsible for having the right to share other participants’ names and expense info with them via the bill.

You can delete your account at any time from Account → Delete account. This cancels any subscription immediately, deletes your receipt photos, and anonymizes your profile. Bills you created remain visible to people you shared them with so their totals stay accurate.

We may update these terms as the product changes. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date.
